Catherine Shanahan began her work life in criminal justice, later joined her family’s television sales/service shop and then, as owner of Shanahan Sound and Electronics, Inc., adapted the business to serve a broad base of audio and video customers. Boston Globe writer Davis Bushnell profiled Shanahan and her successes in a recent article featured in the newspaper.
NSCA President To Serve On Iowa Department Of Public Safety Board

MTC Systems CEO Nancy Emerson just got busier. Emerson, who also serves as the volunteer president of the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA), has joined the newly formed Iowa Fire Extinguishing Systems Contractors and Alarm Systems Advisory Board. She will assist in drafting rules regarding how alarm contractors and installers will be certified in the state of Iowa. Emerson’s company specializes in voice and data products, and her expertise with nurse call systems was a major reason why Iowa Public Safety Commissioner Gene Meyer asked her to serve.
