Tony Whaley Named Instructor of the Year for NSCA University

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – August 4, 2006 – The National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA), a leading not-for-profit association supporting the commercial electronic systems industry, has named Tony Whaley 2006 Instructor of the Year for their NSCA University – College of Business. Whaley was selected based on student evaluations of his course titled “Architects Will Call You,” which was presented at the 2006 NSCA Expo.

 

“Tony really stepped up for us this year.  This isn’t an easy course to teach at all and he made it a huge success.  It’s a thrill for me to see young talent like Tony become part of the NSCA University program”.  said NSCA Executive Director Chuck Wilson.

 

Whaley is a Certified LAN Specialist and Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) employed by RTKL in Baltimore, Md. RTKL is a planning, architecture, design and creative services organization with 700 employees in eleven offices around the globe. Whaley provides telecommunications design consultation to clients in the government, financial, health, education, and commercial sectors. He specializes in information technology, structured cabling systems in classified and non-classified facilities, video distribution systems, and wireless LAN systems design. Whaley served 20 years with the U.S. Army as a Communications and Electronics Maintenance Chief and has experience in HF, VHF, UHF, and satellite radio design, installation, and repair.

 

The NSCA College of Business is one of six colleges in the NSCA University offering educational training for audio and video systems contractors/integrators, product manufacturers, consultants, sales representatives, architects, and specifying engineers. Other colleges feature courses for Technical Knowledge, Systems Sales, System Design, Project Management, and Allied Professionals. Participants in NSCA University programs can work toward a Certificate of Completion, which is awarded after attaining 24 Learning Units (LUs) within a college.
