CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – August 4, 2006 – The National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA), a leading not-for-profit association supporting the commercial electronic systems industry, has named Bill Thrasher 2006 Instructor of the Year for their NSCA University – College of System Design. Thrasher was selected based on student evaluations of his course titled “Design Considerations for Houses of Worship,” which was presented at the 2006 NSCA Expo.
“Those who know Bill will not be surprised by this honor. His name comes up in almost every conversation about people who truly understand the unique issues in the how of worship marketplace. We are fortunate to have him on our roster” said NSCA Executive Director Chuck Wilson.
Thrasher is President of Thrasher Design Group, an acoustical and systems design consulting firm based in Kennesaw, Ga. He has been involved with the Billy Graham Evangelist Association and Graham’s Crusades and Missions since 1979 as a live sound designer and mixer. Thrasher has been on staff at Walt Disney World in Florida, First Baptist Church of Orlando, Fla., and has been employed in recording studio mixing, live performance mixing, and audio systems design for more than 30 years.
The NSCA College of System Design is one of six colleges in the NSCA University offering educational training for audio and video systems contractors/integrators, product manufacturers, consultants, sales representatives, architects, and specifying engineers. Other colleges feature courses for Technical Knowledge, Systems Sales, Project Management, Business, and Allied Professionals. Participants in NSCA University programs can work toward a Certificate of Completion, which is awarded after attaining 24 Learning Units (LUs) within a college.
