Consultants ListServ

NSCA’s Consultant ListServ is an exclusive members-only electronic forum to connect independent design consultants working in the electronic systems integration industry to interact, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

Who can participate?

Only NSCA Consultant members can use this feature. NSCA defines consultants as independent design firms providing consulting services in acoustics, audio/video, life safety, networking, computer systems, or other related electronic systems technology. By independent, we mean that these firms do not sell products, represent product lines or install systems. The consultant category is for individuals or companies whose revenues are generated from offering expertise and design services on an hourly, retainer, or per-project fee basis. This category does not include contractors with a design-build business section within their company, or who provide design services as part of their contracting business.

In addition to not selling or installing products, NSCA consultant members shall not provide on-going maintenance or service to installed systems beyond the initial commissioning, programming, or required inspection phases of a project. This does not extend to inspections, evaluations, or any other user requested service to enhance system performance, or begin the replacement process. The consultant may be considered a contract employee or independent contractor if required by the facility where the service is being performed. The consultant category is not intended for use by those who have been designated as a temporary employee, permanent contractor, or semi-permanent contractor by the facility. NSCA supports cooperation and use of industry best practices between consultants and contractors and encourages open and honest communications between all parties.

You must be an NSCA Member in good standing to participate in the ListServ. The list membership is moderated which means that your subscription will be reviewed and approved by NSCA.
